A Better Way to Support Our Technicians
Something many drivers don’t realize is that most automotive technicians in the United States are paid under a system called flat rate.
Flat rate pays technicians a fixed amount of time for a repair regardless of how long the job actually takes. If a four-hour job takes eight hours, the technician is still paid for four. If there is no work coming in, they often receive no pay.
While this system is common across the industry, it can encourage rushed work and unnecessary repairs.
At Wagon Worx, our technicians are not paid this way.
We believe when technicians are supported and not pressured by the clock, they can focus on what matters most — doing the repair correctly and taking care of the customer.
When our technicians are taken care of, our customers are too.
